Abstract
Analytical techniques are presented to assess the probability distributions and related statistical parameters of loss of production from equipment networks subject to random failures and repairs. The techniques are based on a theoretical model for system availability, which was further developed into a microcomputer model for the analysis of complex systems. The techniques are illustrated by the analysis of the early design of an offshore field development.
