Abstract
In order to be able to interpret the results of the mechanical response of a homogeneously gas-fluidised bed to the vertical vibration of an immersed object, a theoretical analysis is presented of the interaction between a vibrating wire netting and the fluidised bed. It appears that in order to explain the results as reported in a preceding paper, an elasticity as well as a viscous dissipation should be contributed to the fluidised bed.
