Abstract

An optical chopper based re-circulating loop is presented for emulating long-haul transmission using few-mode fiber. A proper functioning of the loop is verified by transmission of 3 mode-division multiplexed × 128-Gb/s DP-QPSK over more than 1000 km of few-mode fiber.
