Abstract

The validation of IFC building models is becoming increasingly important in BIM- based collaboration processes. Existing methods mainly focus on low-level selections of entities and attributes, but still lack a formal mechanism to associate semantic concepts to definitions. In this research, we propose a framework based on semantic web technologies for the model view definition and IFC validation. A brief overview of related works which constitute the foundation of this research is given. The overall design and essential implementation details of this framework is introduced with examples based on use-cases.
