Abstract

This paper proposes an objective evaluation of three possible basic cell topologies for a three-phase high precision amplifier considering redundancy. Cold redundancy and hot redundancy are considered as redundant structures. The evaluation is based on the two performance objectives. The first one is the efficiency and power density performance, and the second one is through the converter system reliability. Results show that the hot-redundancy ANPC GaN converter operating at 183kHz is the most optimal solution amongst the considered basic cell topologies.
