Abstract

The paper describes a videotex system that can be applied in modern two-way CATV networks. With this videotex system a subscriber has access to an unlimited amount of information which is stored in a data base at the head end of the CATV network. The videotex system only occupies one TV channel, thus only slightly burdening the network. The designed system is based on the British teletext principle, which is presently in use in many European countries.
