Abstract

The spatial stability of a semi circular steel arch is investigated with a finite element model. A previously performed experiment is simulated. This paper deals with building the FE-model and performing the simulation of the experiment. The objective is to validate the FE-model against the experiment. The results show identical ultimate loads as well as reasonably comparable load - deformation behavior.
