Abstract
A monitoring system for the measurement of air pollution in a number of 4-monitors as well as single-monitor stations, as is suitable in the scale of a medium-sized city, is described. In the system Commodore 64 home computers are applied for data acquisition with the aid of the interfaces LABAD and LABDAS. The data are stored on floppy disk and gathered periodically by changing the diskette; they are processed centrally and for this purpose software has been
developed.
The software can be divided into programs of three levels: the measuring level, the level of handling day-files, and the level of handling month-files. The structure of the different programs of the three levels is discussed and examples are given originating from the 6-months experience period with the monitoring system.
