Abstract

The total deflection of an optical guided wave by a surface acoustic wave (SAW) in a silicon-based SiO/sub 2//Al/sub 2/O/sub 3//SiO/sub 2/ optical waveguide structure is reported. The SAW is generated by an interdigital transducer with piezoelectric ZnO deposited on top of the optical waveguide structure
