Abstract
A method to asses the accuracy of a linear thermoacoustic model is proposed and applied
over a wide operating range of burner, equivalence ratio and flow velocity. In order to do
this, an intuitive quality measure is derived, which is able to quantify the discrepancy between
model and experiment. The presented method provides further insight into the overall model
performance, and the variation from case to case. It is shown that the linear model provides
an accurate prediction for 74% of the data points, with an average frequency error of 4.7%. In
addition, the method can be used as an effective tool for model comparison and optimization.
