Abstract

The cationic ring opening polymn. of 2-ethyl-2-oxazoline performed in different ionic liqs. (reaction medium) and under microwave irradn. was investigated. Results showed that the polymn. can be carried out in a very short reaction time (.apprx.1 min. at 140 DegC). Moreover, a convenient and \"environmentally friendly\" methodol. to facilitate the recovery of the polymer from the reaction medium was developed based on the soly. of the polymer and the used ionic liqs. in water. In this way the recovered ionic liq. can be reused to conduct new polymn. reactions. [on SciFinder (R)]
