    Abstract

Two user interface concepts were developed for hand-held cellular phones that were based on two different input devices: a rotary dial and a touch-sensitive display. This design study started with a usability study of devices that were available on the market. The results of this led to two different user interface concepts. The concepts were simulated and evaluated.
