Abstract

In two preceding papers a systematic theory of order-disorder systems was developed on the basis of a moment expansion of occupation probabilities. It was shown that several combinatorial approximation methods could be derived by taking into account first moments only. In this paper the importance of the corrections, due to the consideration of higher moments, is investigated systematically by a computation of the temperature and energy of the transition point for a number of cases. It will be seen that the influence of the higher moments is large.
