Abstract
A moment method due to Kirkwood for the computation of the occupation probabilities of a pair of nearest neighbour sites in an order-disorder system is generalized in a systematic way to larger figures of sites in the lattice. In this paper the general theory is given and formal expressions for the moments are derived.
