Abstract

The temperature lag property of earth, in reference to atmosphere, can be utilized using earth-air heat exchanger, both for cooling and heating in summers and winters respectively. This approach is expected to be beneficial for cooling/heating in arid regions, such as, Jodhpur Rajasthan, in order to provide the required comfort level. In this paper, the developed one dimensional steady and unsteady state model is assessed in comparison to experiments. Furthermore, preliminary assessment of soil temperature model is also performed.
