A numerical primer for the chemical engineer

    Research output: Book/ReportBookAcademic

    Abstract

This book provides an introduction to numerical methods for students in chemical engineering. The book starts with a recap on linear algebra. It then presents methods for solving linear and nonlinear equations, with a special focus on Gaussian elimination and Newton’s method. It also discusses ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations. The text also examines implicit and explicit schemes, including Euler’s method and higher order methods such as Runge Kutta.
