Abstract

We present a new reconfigurable MMI coupler for photonic vector-matrix multiplication embedded with tuneable liquid crystals on an InP membrane platform. A new modeling technique is introduced that optimizes the liquid crystal tuning procedure via co-simulations with FDTD for the Iris flower classification benchmark.
