Abstract

We present a lightwave centralized and dispersion immune scheme for the hybrid access network, which is capable of generation and seamless integration of the millimetrewave radio-over-fibre (mm-RoF) system with the baseband wired signal. In this proposed architecture, an optical single side band harmonic is transmitted along with the wireless data employing the multiplexing of arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) in order to generate the millimetre-wave signal at the optical network unit (ONU), whereas the other side band harmonic is modulated with a 1.25 Gb/s baseband data by a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) at the central office (CO) simultaneously.
