Abstract
A general framework efficiency model for goods transportation is proposed. It is specified for
the case of regional breakbulk distribution. Quantitative data on the magnitude of the partial
efficiencies, their dispersion, and their potential for improvement have been collected from
experts in the field. What should be done next is select promising partial efficiencies, analyse
them statistically, find causal relations and recommend improvements.
