VENI - Anticipating the role of smart technologies in the dynamics of everyday life

Project: Second tier

Project Details

Description

The rise of (semi-)autonomous technologies has both pros and cons. This research project combines sociology and design research to develop new design theory and methodologies to better anticipate the effects of autonomous technology designs in everyday life. The theory is developed through a case study on the future of summer comfort and comprises three phases: (1) probable futures, (2) possible futures, and (3) preferable futures.
