Sensor technologies and metrology solutions for high tech Additive Manufacturing processes enabling industrial scale products

Project: Research direct

Project Details

Description

Additive manufacturing (also referred to as 3D printing) is on the rise. Together with TNO, Eindhoven University of Technology has set up three research projects around Additive Manufacturing. The TKI project is one of these. The focus of this project is to improve the quality of the additive manufacturing process as well as the quality of the products produced. This requires development of special sensors to measure a variety of specific product properties, as well as new methods for taking measurements during the production process. In this project, insight is gained in fluid mechanics during the deposition process, in order to interpret sensor data and improve the deposition process.
