Project Details
Description
This project envisions an optimised, customised and seamless mobility for the European traveler. It aims to integrate various mobility and related services as a one-stop platform. This vision will be enabled by an open data platform that will host a wide range of services, which will facilitate the generation of end-to-end travel options that take into consideration the real-time traffic conditions, specific needs and preferences of the traveller, as well as the mobility policies of public bodies. It will learn from the past travels of its users, their preferences, and end-user reviews of services, and continuously improve its recommendations. With the support of policy makers, it will contribute to the increased liveability of cities by offering more sustainable alternatives to private cars.
MobilitEU (UMOS) is an initiative with a high-risk high-gain profile. The consortium has over 30 organisations including a number of European cities, various service providers and research institutes.
In 2021, the project aims to announce its first version, successfully run its pilots, and setup the legal entity to run the platform’s operations. In 2022, it plans to scale up with additional services that will be open to travellers of several European cities.
