The program committee of the 41st International Symposium on Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science (MFCS 2016) selected the paper ''Optimal Sparsification for Some Binary CSPs Using Low-degree Polynomials'', authored by Bart M.P. Jansen and Astrid Pieterse, as the best paper of the conference. The award was sponsored by the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS).
