Description

In recognition of the role played in developing the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) in Europe. In 1999, TU Eindhoven, the Netherlands, was the first location outside North America to host the World Finals of the ACM ICPC. Tom Verhoeff started coaching the ACM ICPC team of TU Eindhoven in 1986; the team participated on several World Finals. In 1988, 1989, and 1990, TU Eindhoven hosted the EMEA (Europe/Middle-East/Africa) Regional Finals of the ACM ICPC, with Tom as Regional Contest Director. In 2000, Tom was Assistant World Finals Contest Director ACM ICPC. From 1998 until 2000, Tom was Superregional Contest Director for EMEA.
