Yuanyuan Zhan is a doctoral candidate in the group of Stimuli-responsive Functional Materials and Devices (SFD) but also working in the joint research lab of Devices Integrated Responsive Materials (DIRM, Guangzhou, China) under the supervision of prof. dr. Dirk Broer, dr. Danqing Liu, prof. dr. Albert Schenning, and prof. dr. Guofu Zhou. Yuanyuan works on the liquid crystal based smart window and stimuli-responsive liquid crystal polymers, particularly interested in the electrically driven systems. By working with a company, she is trying to work on the upscaling of the privacy window.

Academic background

Yuanyuan Zhan started to study Materials Science and Engineering in 2009 at Donghua University (Shanghai, China) and obtained her Bachelor degree in 2013. Then she joined the group of Prof. dr. Yanlei Yu at Fudan University (Shanghai, China) and started working on projects of photo-responsive liquid crystal polymers. After finishing the Master study, she joined the joint research lab of Devices Integrated Responsive Materials (DIRM, Guangzhou, China) and the group of Stimuli-responsive Functional Materials.
