Research profile

Yanja Dajsuren is an Assistant Professor and Program Director of the PDEng Software Technology program in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology. The PDEng (Professional Doctorate in Engineering) degree program in Software Technology is one of the twenty PDEng degree programs offered at the Dutch universities of technology.

Yanja’s research interests include software architecture description mechanisms (architecture frameworks, architecture description languages), model-driven development, component-based software engineering, and software quality. As an assistant professor, she works on the system/software architecture related topics of autonomous and cooperative driving vehicles as well as Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS). Yanja’s current projects include the i-CAVE(Project #6) and Horizon 2020 C-MobILE projects.

Academic background

Yanja Dajsuren earned her PhD in Computer Science in 2015 from TU/e under supervision of Prof. Dr. Mark van den Brand . Her PhD research was carried out in the context of the Hybrid Innovations for Trucks (HIT) project funded by the Dutch government. She obtained her PDEng degree in Software Technology in 2005 from TU/e and MBA degree in 2002 from Maastricht School of Management. Before the HIT project, Yanja worked as a (senior) scientist on various advanced software development projects at the Philips Research Lab, NXP Semiconductors (former Philips Semiconductors), and Virage Logic. Prior to her current roles, Yanja worked as a researcher at the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam. During her PhD, she initiated and co-chaired the International Workshop on Automotive Software Architectures (WASA) at the IEEE International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA), which is the premier venue for practitioners and researchers interested in software architecture, in component-based software engineering and in quality aspects. She has launched the Journal of Automotive Software Engineering (JASE) together with Prof. Dr. Mark van den Brand and Atlantis Press. She has served as a PC member of the international conferences such as IEEE ICPC, ICSMtool, and FESTA.
