Xinmiao’s comes from the field of Maritime Technology and obtained his Msc at Delft University of Technology in 2022. His latest thesis focused on total fatigue life time of welded joints through effective notch stress concept.
Research profile
Wire-arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) has gained growing interest from the built environment in recent years. However, the surface quality of the structures produced by WAAM are lower compared to those of cast alternatives and will impact the fatigue life time. Xinmiao’s research focuses on the fatigue resistance of WAAM-fabricated components. His research profile involves aspects such as:
