Research profile
Xiaodong Cheng was a postdoctoral researcher with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. 2019-2020 he was working with Prof. Paul Van den Hof on data-driven modeling of dynamic networks. His research interests also include model reduction, and distributed control of network systems. Currently, he works at Cambridge University and is still connected to the CS group.
Academic background
Xiaodong Cheng finished his B.S. and M.S. degrees in system and control engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, China, in 2011 and 2014, respectively. From 2014, he became a PhD candidate in Jan C. Willems Center for Systems and Control, University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He was under the supervision of Prof. Jacquelien M. A. Scherpen and worked on strucure-preserving model reduction of network systems. In 2018, he received his Ph.D. degree cum laude.
