Research profile
Xaveer Leijtens (1962) studied physics at the University of Amsterdam. He received his master degree with honors in 1988 and his Ph.D. degree in 1993 on research in the field of high energy physics.
In 1993 he joined the Photonic Integrated Circuits group at the Delft University of Technology. Since 2000 he is with the Institute for Photonic Integration (former COBRA research center) at the Eindhoven University of Technology, where he is associate professor in the Photonic Integration group. His interests focus on photonic IC design in generic integration technology.
From 2005 to 2008 he was chairman of the IEEE Photonics Society Benelux chapter (photonics-benelux.org). He is leading the design effort within the Joint European platform for InP-based Photonic Integration of Components and Circuits (JePPIX.eu) and is a core developer of the Nazca design tool (nazca-design.org). Dr. Leijtens was associate editor for IEEE Photonics Technology Letters (2007-2011). He (co-)authored over 350 scientific papers and conference contributions and 3 book chapters.
