Research profile
Tijn Borghuis studied Philosophy in Groningen and Amsterdam (MSc UvA 1989). He was a PhD student, postdoc and coordinator in the interdisciplinary project Dialogue modeling and Knowledge acquistion (DenK) of the TU/e and Tilburg university. His PhD thesis (1994) was on knowledge representation in typed lambda calculus. From 1998-2008, he was assistant director of the Institute for Programming Research and Algorithmics (IPA).
In 2009, he moved from the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science to the Philosophy & Ethics group of IE&IS to become project manager for the ACQA project (Academic Criteria and Quality Assurance). Besides this project he has been involved in educational innovation at the TU/e as a course developer and teacher. His research interests include artificial intelligence, curriculum design and modeling in engineering.
