Research profile
Thijs van Keulen is an Assistant Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He is co-lecturer of an MSc course entitled “Advanced control for future heavy-duty powertrains”. His research interests include optimal control theory, control of constrained systems, and extremum seeking control. Thijs’ specific expertise covers measurement and control engineering as well as the applications of optimal control in hybrid vehicles and heavy-duty power trains, and high performance mechatronic systems. His research has resulted in several benefits in the area of mobility, such as modeling solutions for emissions and methods of emission reduction and fuel efficiency improvements.
Academic background
