Research profile
Sushil is a Ph.D. candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) specializing in computational electromagnetics for metasurface and metalens design. His research focuses on developing efficient Time-Domain Integral Equation (TDIE) solvers for accurate electromagnetic simulations, optimizing algorithms to surpass traditional methods such as FDTD, and modeling complex metasurface structures that account for dispersion and coupling effects.
He also explores machine learning-based approaches for rapid metasurface design and performance prediction. His broader research aims to achieve faster and more accurate field estimation for large-scale metasurfaces and to advance inverse design workflows for meta-optics applications.
Sushil holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics, specializing in photonics and computational electromagnetics. His master’s thesis focused on AI-enabled design of active metasurfaces using phase-change materials. Alongside his research, he serves as a Teaching Assistant for the course Numerical Methods for Electrical Engineers (5CPA0) at TU/e.
Academic background
Sushil holds a Bachelor's degree from the Physics Department at the University of Delhi, India, graduated in 2021. He furthered his academic journey by obtaining a Master's degree from the Physics Department at IIT Gandhinagar, India, in 2023. Presently, he is advancing his research pursuits as a Ph.D. candidate in the Electromagnetics group at Eindhoven University of Technology.
