Academic background

Soshala Weerathunge obtained his bachelor's degree in Mechatronics and Robotic systems from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University in 2020. Afterwards, he completed his master's in Systems and Control at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2023. Currently, he is working as a doctoral candidate at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUe). His current research focuses are the 3D reconstruction of soft surfaces, robot control and material modelling. 

Research profile

Soshala Weerathunge is a PhD student in the Dynamics and Control research group of the Mechanical Engineering department. He is involved in the SMEAR project (Soft-Material-Exploring Autonomous Robot) which focuses on designing a prototype robotic system for autonomous manipulation of soft (elasto plastic) matter.
