Robin is a doctoral candidate in the Molecular Materials and Nanosystems group (M2N) under the supervision of prof.dr.ir. René Janssen and dr.ir. Martijn Wienk. His research is focused on the energy levels (and morphology) of organic semiconductors in organic solar cells, and the influence of the energy levels on the solar cell behaviour.

Academic background

Robin Willems obtained his BSc degree in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry in 2012 from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. In 2011, he started an MSc program in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Molecular Engineering and the certificate program in Technology Management. The graduation project of this master was performed within the Molecular Materials and Nanosystems (M2N) group, under direct supervision of dr.ir. Serkan Esiner, on photoelectrochemical water splitting with earth-abundant materials and the fabrication of an artificial leaf.  After completing a four month industrial internship within Holst Center/Solliance working on the inkjet printing of tandem organic solar cells, Robin obtained his MSc degree with great appreciation. Currently, Robin works as a doctoral researcher in the Molecular Materials and Nanosystems group.
