Rick Knops is an EngD candidate in Human-System Interaction at Eindhoven University of Technology (TUe), exploring computational creativity and data-driven design in healthcare.

His work is situated at the intersection of Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, and AI-driven creativity, focusing on how design research can redefine human-data interaction in health and well-being. His research integrates generative AI, data visualization, and human-centered design to create intuitive, interactive, and explainable AI systems for medical applications. He works on (i) AI-driven visual storytelling in healthcare: developing new ways to represent complex medical data to enhance expert decision-making and collaboration; and (ii) Computational creativity in hybrid design processes: investigating how AI can act as a co-creator to support innovation in digital health, education, and human-ai interaction.
