Research profile
Remco Schalk is a PhD candidate in the RF Sensing & Communication Lab, which is part of the Integrated Circuits group. He is working as part of the Mi-RAYS project in collaborations with NXP Semiconductors, where his main aim is to design an ultra-fast transmit module for next-generation automotive radar. Besides his research, Remco is/has been also involved as TA for the 5ECE0/5ECC0 (Electronic Circuits 2), 5SFD0 (Data Converters 2), 5ECA0 (Circuits) and 5SFC0 (Advanced CMOS design) courses, and is/has been supporting various Bachelor/Master students for their thesis projects.
Academic background
Remco Schalk was born in Dordrecht, The Netherlands in 1997. He received the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2021, where he has been working on high-speed noise-shaping ADCs for automotive applications in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors, Eindhoven. Currently, Remco is pursuing his doctorate as PhD Candidate within the Integrated Circuits Group, Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors, Eindhoven, focusing on next-generation transmitter architectures for millimeter wave. His research interests include high-speed data converters, digital transmitters and RF/millimeter-wave design.
