Research profile

Ntorina Antoni is a Postdoctoral Researcher in innovation ecosystems at the Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship & Marketing (ITEM) group. Her research primarily focuses on strategic decision-making processes, stakeholder management, and strategy innovation in large high-tech organizations. In April, 2023 she defended her thesis titled 'Managing Strategy Innovation: Co-Navigating the Strategy Perimeter in New Strategic Initiatives at the European Space Agency'. Currently she oversees the coordination of COOPERATE project (intra- and interregional ecosystems for knowledge production) which promotes regional best practices for innovation ecosystems across Europe.

 

Academic background

Ntorina holds a Law degree from the School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International and European Law with cum laude from Tilburg University, and an Advanced Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Air and Space Law with distinction from Leiden University. In 2023, she obtained her Ph.D. degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology.

 

Experience

Prior to joining academia, Ntorina gained extensive experience in law, policy and strategy in the aerospace industry. From 2016 to 2017, she was employed as strategy and policy analyst at the European Space Agency Headquarters in Paris, France, where she was involved in the analysis of regulations, policies, and strategies of various entities such as agencies, ministries, international institutions, national parliaments and the European parliament. From 2014 to 2016, Ntorina worked as the legal counsel for Swiss Space Systems, a Swiss-based company that aimed to offer orbital launches of small satellites and manned sub-orbital spaceflights. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing the legal and regulatory aspects of aviation and aerospace projects, including aircraft purchases, certification of parabolic flights and small satellite launches. While working in the industry, Ntorina also obtained her license as Attorney-at-Law in Athens, Greece, where she practiced as an attorney for several years.
