Research profile

Nevin Mutlu is an Assistant Professor in the OPAC Group within the School of Industrial Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research interests include retail operations, revenue management, and logistics. With her interdisciplinary background, Nevin brings together tools and concepts from optimization, economics and marketing domains to solve industry-relevant problems in her research. Particularly, she is interested in the modeling and optimization of decision-making processes in retailing and transportation fields. Nevin is the recipient of the prestigious EU Horizon 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (2018-2020).

 

Academic background

Dr. Nevin Mutlu received her PhD and MSc degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, USA in 2016 and 2013, respectively. She also holds a BSc degree in Industrial Engineering and a BA degree in Economics from University at Buffalo, State University of New York, USA. Prior to her appointment at TU/e, where she started working in 2016, Nevin held various positions at Virginia Tech. As a graduate teaching assistant, she assisted with various courses such as deterministic operations research, statistical quality control, and engineering economics. She was also an instructor for a BSc course on probabilistic operations research. During her PhD, Nevin also held an appointment at Virginia Tech Office of Emergency Management as a graduate assistant, and worked on real-life applications of emergency management problems.
