Nathalie van der Wal is a teacher educator at Eindhoven School of Education (ESoE), and a lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Eindhoven University of Technology. Her areas of expertise include Educational Design Research, Mathematic didactics and Lesson Study for teachers.

From 2021 until 2023, Nathalie van der Wal was a postdoctoral researcher at Eindhoven School of Education where she was coordinator and researcher in the European Erasmus+ project on Lesson Study in mathematics. She received her PhD at the Freudenthal Institute of Utrecht University in 2020 in which she created and implemented an innovative course of applied mathematics with a focus on Techno-mathematical Literacies for first-year students at Avans University of Applied Sciences. She holds an MSc in Applied Mathematics and a BSc in Molecular Sciences from Wageningen University.
