Personal profile
Research profile
Nathalie Thielen is a project manager within the Project Management Office (PMO) of the Research Support Office (RSO). She currently manages the TU/e centrally funded PhD EuroTech Program and coordinates projects within Quantum Delta NL, Action Line 3: Human Capital, both at the TU/e level and on a national scale. Nathalie is responsible for the implementation of these projects and serves as the main contact person for various partners, Quantum Delta NL, and all stakeholders.
Academic background
Nathalie obtained her Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2016 from Maastricht University, followed by a PhD in the Department of Experimental Rheumatology at Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen. With a background in research myself, I now really enjoy being close to all the exciting science at the technical university but more behind the scenes (without doing the research myself). I love translating complex science into clear language, and creating space for researchers to shine. Analytical by nature, people-focused in approach, and always keeping the bigger picture in sight, I enjoy building bridges between scientists, funders, and society—always with a positive spirit and a touch of calm in the chaos.
Quote
As a project manager in research funding projects, I get to do what I love most: keeping the overview, bringing structure to complexity, and connecting people.
