Academic background

Naomi van Hierden studied Architecture, Building and Planning at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she obtained her masters degree Structural Design of the Built Environment in 2021. Her master thesis was a collaboration between the research group of 3D printed concrete (Unit: Structural Design) and Building Materials (Unit: Building Physics), and focussed on "The use of natural hemp fibres in 3D printed concrete".
After graduation, she started het PhD research in the chair of Building Materials, in collaboration with the research group of 3D concrete printing.

Naomi van Hierden is a PhD candidate in the Unit Building Physics, chair Building Materials, in the Department of the Built Environment at Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research is in collaboration with the chair of 3D concrete printing and focusses on the development of new, sustainable 3D printable concrete mixtures to reduce the CO2 footprint. Her focus is on the use of biobased and recycled materials, such as waste glass and clay-based materials
