Muhammad Babar was born on 30th August 1987 in Karachi, Pakistan. He received Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan, in 2010 and Master’s degree in manufacturing system design and management engineering from the National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2013. He started his research career as a Research Engineer at the Wavetec Private, Ltd., Karachi, Pakistan, and then worked as a Researcher in Saudi Aramco Chair, Saudi-Arabia and High Voltage Laboratory, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi-Arabia, for around two and a half years. Since September 2013, he has been working as Researcher in the Electrical Power Systems Group, Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He was also a visiting researcher at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland, under a European Program. In 2018, He was being awarded by Doctorate of Technical Science (DSc) from AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland. He was also associated with the Innovation Department of Alliander, which is one of the largest distribution grid operators of The Netherlands. He has, in short, have experience in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environments of one of the leading institutes of The Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. His interests are focused on but not limited to Energy Management, Demand Response, Machine Learning, Data Analysis, Transactive Energy and Smart Grid. However, his PhD. Research is more focused on services that enhance the demand response capability of an active distribution network.
