Michiel Beijen received the MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering (cum laude) and Systems & Control (cum laude) from the University of Twente in 2012. During his MSc thesis, he worked on two-sensor feedback control strategies for active hard-mounted vibration isolators. After finishing his MSc thesis, he worked for one year at the University of Twente to develop an active vibration control strategy for an industrial measurement device. Since 2013, he is a PhD candidate in the Control Systems Technology group at Eindhoven University of Technology in collaboration with ASML. His research interests include the development of active vibration isolation systems using feedback and adaptive feedforward control algorithms.
