Mehrzad is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Human-Interactive Materials (HiM) group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His work focuses on liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) and their micro-fabrication to create programmable, stimuli-responsive structures. He investigates how material composition and processing influence actuation performance to develop soft haptic interfaces and adaptive touch-interactive devices. Prof. Danqing Liu supervises his research.
Know the question, and the answer will reveal.
Mehrzad completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Zaragoza (Spain), where his research focused on the melt electrowriting of liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) and dynamic polymer networks. His doctoral work established processing–structure–actuation relationships in stimuli-responsive micro-architectures and introduced fabrication strategies for high-resolution alignment and controlled actuation.
He obtained his MSc in Photonics from the University of Tabriz (Iran), where he worked on adaptive liquid-crystal-based lenses and the optical modulation mechanisms behind their tunable focal response.
