Personal profile

Academic background

Mathias Dolci studied material physics at the University of Strasbourg (France), where he obtained his MSc degree in 2014. In 2018, he received his PhD from the University of Strasbourg, where he studied the assemblies of iron oxide nanoparticles onto gold thin film for biosensor applications. After a postdoctoral position at the University of Lille (France), he moved to Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e, The Netherlands). He is currently postdoc in the research group Molecular Biosensing at the department of Biomolecular Engineering.

Research profile

Mathias Dolci is a post-doctoral researcher of Molecular Plasmonics in the research group for Molecular Biosensing for Medical Diagnostics, a joint group of the TU/e departments of Applied Physics and Biomedical Engineering. His work is centered on the developement of sensor surface chemistry to enable the detection of biomolecules. In particular, his research focuses on detection using plasmonic probes and photonic structures to achieve biodetection in a label-free manner. His research combines concepts from single-molecule microscopy, plasmonics and fiber-optic to develop novel sensing concepts and study biomolecular interactions.
