He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Trieste (2013). He carried out his master project in the group of Prof Maurizio Prato, working on the functionalization and characterization of carbon nanotubes, to be employed in neuronal tissue engineering.

In January 2014 he started his PhD project in the group of Prof.  Rint Sijbesma, within the Initial Training Network Sassypol. Currently, his project is focused on the synthesis of self-assembled supramolecular polymers able to form hydrogels, as well as the characterization of their structure. The main goal is to prepare biomimetic hydrogels in terms of mechanical properties and function, so as to be used for tissue engineering purposes.
