Personal profile

Research profile

Marie is a PhD researcher in the Polymer Performance Materials group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), where she began her doctoral studies in 2025 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Željko Tomović and Prof. Dr. Fabian Eisenreich. Her research focuses on the development of recyclable thermosets for coatings, based on smart monomers that can be selectively depolymerized. Her project is part of the SusInkCoat consortium, a collaboration between industry, academia, and government aimed at advancing sustainable inks and coatings.

Academic background

Marie completed her BSc and MSc in Chemistry at the University of Antwerp in 2022 and 2024, respectively. Her academic background focuses on organic synthesis. In her bachelor’s thesis, she investigated an alternative synthetic approach to iminophosphoranes. For her master’s thesis, she studied the visible-light photocatalyzed hydrosulfonylation of unactivated alkenes using disulfones. In 2023, she completed an internship at Soprema, where she worked under the supervision of the Circular Economy Manager and the HSQE Engineer, focusing on CO₂ calculations and the study of carbon credits. In 2025, she began her PhD research at TU/e under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Željko Tomović and Prof. Dr. Fabian Eisenreich.
