Research profile
Luyi Xu is a postdoctoral researcher in the unit of Building Physics and Services at the Department of Built Environment, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. Her research interest lies in the intersection of building performance evaluation, occupant behavior, indoor comfort, and data science. Her research contributes to the development of new approaches and tools to evaluate building design and renovation measures that take into account the variety of occupants.
Academic background
Luyi Xu received a BSc and MSc in HVAC Engineering from Tianjin University, China. In 2020, Luyi obtained her doctoral degree in the unit of Building Physics and Services at the Department of Built Environment, Eindhoven University of Technology. Her dissertation presented the development of a modeling and simulation approach focusing on systematic quality assurance to support decision-making in designing new-generation district heating and cooling system. After finishing her PhD research, she started to work as a postdoctoral researcher in the section Applied Ergonomics and Design of the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology and in the unit Smart Architectural Technology of the Department of the Built Environment at Eindhoven University of Technology. Since October 2022, Luyi has been working as a postdoctoral researcher in the unit Building Physics and Services on the project "Renovation Explorer" (Renovatieverkenner in Dutch).
Luyi is a reviewer for several scientific journals and international conferences.
