Luke Visser studied Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at Eindhoven University of Technology. For his master thesis, he investigated quantum algorithms that could be implemented on current quantum computers, resulting in an algorithm that uses the theory of dilations to train a quantum computer to simulate any open quantum system.
Luke Visser is a PhD student under Oliver Tse, at the Applied Analysis group within CASA. His work focusses on improving pulse based quantum algorithms by making them noise aware. Specifically, he wants to gain a deeper mathematical understanding of quantum noise. To create result that are practically intereseting for current quantum computers, he works together with the CQT group of the Physics department.
