Academic background

Lukas Puts is a postdoctoral researcher in the Photonic Integration Group at TU/e’s Casimir Institute. His research involves laser dynamics, laser modeling and design, photonic neural networks, and extensive optical lab measurements, all focused on developing spiking laser neurons on the generic InP-based photonic technology platform. After finalizing his PhD on this topic, Lukas continued his research on spiking laser neurons and how these integrated laser neurons can be cascaded on chip-level. He is actively involved in the development of novel neuromorphic photonic hardware and is passionate about the exciting developments in this field.
